Rooted in Elissavet Pappa’s longstanding relationship with Sifnos, an island renowned for its living tradition of ceramics and a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, the exhibition takes inspiration from a place where clay has shaped both everyday life and cultural identity.

The title OSTRON derived by the ancient Greek word “ostrako” (“shell”) evokes the vessel, the handmade form - objects shaped by the sea, the earth, and the traces of time. In this new body of work, the artist works with clay in a direct and attentive way, allowing the material itself to suggest the form. Her ceramic pieces do not reproduce nature literally; they draw from its structures, surfaces, and irregularities through variations in scale, texture, and balance, each piece retains the touch of the maker while standing as an object in its own right shaped through a slow and deliberate process of making.
